Our History
History of «Grand Hotel» dates back to the middle of the XIX century, when the first Lviv public casino was opened in a two-storey Empire-style building. Later, in 1892-93 the building has been rebuilt and acquired the present day appearance. In December 1893 a hotel was opened for visitors and in a short time it got the reputation of the best and the most comfortable in the city. At that time all social life of the city was happening around this hotel, the main shops and restaurants were situated next to it, important meetings took place, distinguished guests stayed here.
The twentieth century brought a lot of changes related to the external architectural structure and the interior of the hotel, but it did not change the spirit of the refined romanticism.
The last reconstruction of the hotel took place in 1991-1992, when the stucco moulding of the façade was renovated and the interiors of the guest rooms were changed. Decorative finishing, stucco decorative moulding and design elements of décor have been added in order to preserve the hotel’s traditional atmosphere. The best materials (granite, marble) were used for the renovation and the rooms were furnished with the best way, with the pieces manufactured locally and abroad.
At present «Grand Hotel» is the only hotel in Lviv, that combines high-level modern comfort and conveniences with the refined aesthetic atmosphere. We have already welcomed more than one hundred thousand guests from different countries, famous diplomats and politicians, public figures and artists and are looking forward to greeting new ones. Our staff will do their best to satisfy all requirements and tastes and to provide our best hospitability to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
